Everglades City Adventure

Resort Sports, Inc. has created a memorable event set in the truly unique eco-system of the Florida Everglades. An eco-trained guide will share an overview of the Everglades environment and a history of the area. Groups compete in teams to solve the clues that lead them to their destinations.  Resourceful teams will find the answers they seek by listening well, observing the environment and asking questions of the trained guides along the way.

Participants will learn about the Calusa Indians who inhabited the area in Pre-Columbian times. They will also learn about the homesteaders that scattered themselves among the 10,000 Islands in the early 1900’s, including the infamous Mr. Watson whose story is fictionalized in the book “Killing Mr. Watson” by Peter Matthieson. A keen eye and respect for history are the key to successfully completing this portion of the hunt.

At the culmination of the event, all participants will arrive at the Historic Rod & Gun Lodge for cocktails, light snacks, and the announcement of the Everglades City Adventure winners.
