Sand Sculpting
Sandcastle building creates excitement, challenge and laughter while enjoying one of Florida’s most prized treasures… the beach. Emphasis is placed on team participation and fun, rather than individual play and skill. Our goal is to create a lasting sense of camaraderie and corporate spirit through fun, sun and sand.
The beach area will be outlined with colorful flagging. Teams will be given a 10’ x 10’ coned building area (structure can not extend beyond the cones), and various items/tools to help them create the sculptures of their design. Teams are not allowed to use any materials, (except for shells and natural items found on the beach), in their design.
The sandcastle contest will be staffed by recreation professionals. A professional DJ provides "Jimmy Buffet" style tunes to keep teams "dancing in the street". Our staff will inspect and enforce the rules governing design and building of the castle.
Once teams are organized, one hour and fifteen minutes will be allotted for the building of the sculptures. Medals will be awarded to the 3 most creative sculptures.
